Mizoram is one of the smallest but beautiful states of the North East India. It is located in the southern corner of Northeast India nestled mainly between Myanmar and Bangladesh, but also shares a part of its boundaries with other neighboring Indian states viz., Assam, Manipur and Tripura. Aizawl is the state capital of Mizoram. Mizoram is a land of rolling hills, valleys and lakes. As many as 21 major hills ranges or peaks of different heights run through the length and breadth of the state.
Evergreen ranges of Mizoram hills with blooms of exotic flora and dense bamboo jungles rise sharply from the plains of Assam in the north south direction. Aizawl is situated at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level. The importance of this region at the global stage can be vouched from the fact that the region lies within the Indo-Burma mega diversity hotspot.
